The project’s ambition is the creation of a social landmark for the city of Trikala, which intends to upgrade the public space quality, preserving at the same time the traces of the existing natural and urban landscape.
The proposal included the amalgamation of Iroon Polytechniou square and Ethnikis Antistaseos square through the core natural element of Trikala, the Lithaios River, which acts as the focal point of the design axes, rather than treating the two squares with new materials.
The above is realized by the flux design of the two squares that mirrors the literal and metaphorical fluidity of Lithaios River.
