The Stavros Niarchos Cultural Centre is located in Kallithea. It is one of the most important cultural projects of the country and comprises the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera.
The project has obtained a LEED for New Construction 2.2 Platinum (certified on 11/02/2016).
Our firm was assigned to conduct the acoustic design consultancy along with JV Impregilo Sp.A-TERNA SA.
In particular, our firm was responsible for resolving the following:
- Main Opera Hall (1401 seats)
- Performance Hall 2 (471)
- The main stage including the stage tower, pit area, understage area and the offstage area (rear and front side stages) of the main opera hall
- All sound insulation matters regarding the building acoustics
- All sound insulation matters of the entire MEP Network
- 5 soloist rehearsal rooms
- 4 musician warm up rooms
- The radio studio
- All the rest main and secondary areas of the opera house and library complex
Finally, our firm was also in charge for the monitoring of the noise emitted from the construction works to the inhabited areas at the site boundaries, until the practical completion of the construction program.
